Pre-Sales Engineer

About the role

The role will be responsible for providing technical expertise in RF, wireless communication and Private 5G solutions, while working closely with the Sales team to understand customer requirements, develop technical solutions, conduct presentations and demonstrations, and support the sales process from opportunity identification through project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Private 5G / Industrial 5G network solutions and understand and evaluate customer requirements for industrial wireless connectivity
• Perform basic RF planning, coverage assessment and wireless network design; assist with RF site surveys, spectrum planning and coverage analysis
• Support antenna selection, radio selection and network topology design; assist in troubleshooting RF, wireless and connectivity issues
• Understand 5G concepts including: 5G RAN; Small Cell / Radio Unit; Core Network; SIM/eSIM; Spectrum; Network slicing; QoS; Mobility and handover; Edge computing; Industrial IoT connectivity
• Work with technical partners and principals to develop appropriate Private 5G solutions
• Work closely with the Sales team to identify customer requirements and propose suitable technical solutions
• Attend customer meetings together with Sales personnel and conduct technical discussions with customers, consultants, system integrators and end users
• Prepare technical proposals, solution architectures, presentations and product demonstrations
• Prepare technical responses for RFQ/RFP/RFI and tender requirements; support preparation of quotations by providing technical specifications and solution requirements
• Develop high-level Private 5G network architectures based on customer requirements and recommend suitable radio, antenna, core network and networking components

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, RF Engineering, Wireless Communication, Computer Engineering or related field

• Knowledge of RF and wireless communication, 4G/5G technology, Private 5G Network, Radio Access Network (RAN), Antenna and RF systems, IP networking, Ethernet / TCP/IP, Industrial networking, Wi-Fi / wireless technologies, Network troubleshooting, Basic network architecture

• Good presentation and communication skills; able to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical customers

• Comfortable attending customer meetings and site visits; able to prepare technical proposals and presentations

• Good problem-solving and analytical skills; able to work closely with Sales, Engineering, System Integrators and technology partners

• Willing to travel for customer meetings, site surveys and project activities

• Customer-oriented and commercially aware; proactive and willing to learn new technologies

• 1–3 years of experience in RF, wireless, telecommunications, networking, system integration or pre-sales is preferred. However, fresh graduates with strong technical fundamentals and a genuine interest in Private 5G/RF technologies are welcome to apply.

• Independent and able to manage multiple opportunities/projects; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Strong communication skills in English; Mandarin/Malay would be an added advantage
