Job Overview

Makkays is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Pre-Sales Engineer – Power Technology to provide technical support to the Sales team by reviewing customer requirements, preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), selecting suitable products, and coordinating with internal departments and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in UPS, batteries, power backup systems, renewable energy, and related electrical solutions, with the ability to prepare technically compliant, complete, and competitive solutions within required timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Sales team in handling customer inquiries, RFQs, and tenders.
• Review customer specifications, BOQs, electrical drawings, and technical requirements.
• Prepare detailed BOQs for UPS, AVR, batteries, battery chargers, Lithium batteries, BESS, and related power solutions.
• Perform preliminary sizing and selection of UPS, batteries, AVRs, Lithium battery systems, hybrid inverters, and other power equipment.
• Carry out basic load calculations and battery backup calculations.
• Prepare BOQs, technical compliance statements, datasheets, and supporting documentation.
• Identify missing scope items, technical risks, assumptions, and exclusions before submitting proposals.
• Participate in site surveys and customer technical meetings when required.
• Support pre-bid meetings, tender clarifications, and technical discussions.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Service, Supply Chain, and suppliers to obtain technical and commercial information.
• Maintain standard templates and records for BOQs, technical proposals, calculations, and product information.
• Ensure timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries and tender requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Preferably 2–5 years of experience in pre-sales, power systems, UPS, batteries, renewable energy, or related electrical solutions.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems and critical power solutions.
• Experience in preparing BOQs, technical proposals, and compliance documentation.
• Basic knowledge of UPS, batteries, AVRs, and renewable energy systems.
• Understanding of load calculations and battery sizing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple inquiries and meet tight deadlines.

• Accuracy and completeness of BOQs.
• Quality of technical proposals and compliance documents.
• Effective support for customer inquiries and tenders.
