What they need

Here at Little Ducklings Pre-School we are looking for a Pre-School Assistant to join our team.

Your role will be to ensure that the aims of the Pre-School are maintained and developed through the day-to-day running of the Pre-School. This will be reflected in the way you carry out your main duties as Assistant, which are:

· To contribute to the planning and delivery of the curriculum, working with the other Team Members to ensure that each child is working towards the Early Learning Goals as outlined in our curriculum

· To act as a Key Worker to a small group of children, ensuring regular observation and record-keeping for those children so that their attainment and progress is effectively and regularly assessed, and that each child’s needs are recognised and met

· To liaise with the SENCO when necessary

· To liaise closely with the parents/carers of the children in your Key Worker group, exchanging information about the children’s specific needs and their progress

· To help set up the room for the daily programme, and to help tidy away at the end of each session

· To take care of children’s physical needs as they arise, in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy and under the supervision of the Manager

· To attend Team meetings, in-service training courses and other meetings as required

· To advise the Pre-School Manager and/or Children’s Services of any particular concerns (eg. regarding children, parents, the safety of equipment)

· To make yourself familiar with the Policies and Procedures of the Pre-School, and to adhere to them at all times.

The hours will be 18 -26 hours per week Monday to Friday (to be confirmed) between 8am and 3.15pm, with holiday pay paid pro-rata. There will be the option to work at our After School Club as bank staff as and when needed to cover staff shortages.
