Pre-school Manager

Are you an experienced Nursery Manager—or an accomplished Deputy Manager ready to take the next step?

We’re currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent Pre-School Manager to lead our enthusiastic and committed staff team. Our busy and highly popular pre-school is open Monday to Friday during term-time for full days, as well as a Breakfast Club and After School Club. Our new Manager will be required to be in the setting every day to maintain the excellent standards we’re so proud of. You will benefit from dedicated on-site administration and planning time each week, as well as time within the setting as part of the staff rota, working directly with the children. We also have a finance administrator who handles all headcount claims and finances.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the setting, including:

• Maintaining a successful, high-quality childcare provision, ensuring that standards are consistently met or exceeded by providing our children with exceptional care and education
• Managing, developing and supporting the staff team
• Leading and inspiring the highest standards of practice in early years care and education
• Daily liaison with parents, carers and educational professionals as needed to meet the needs of our children
• Fulfilling duties as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Setting to promote the safeguarding and welfare of the children, staff and parents/carers
• SENDCo experience is required, but we have a dedicated SENDCo, so your role will be to support and ensure best practice is followed.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will already have considerable experience in an early year setting and be working in a managerial, deputy or senior role. Your ability to relate to and work effectively and empathetically with young children is paramount to us, and you will readily demonstrate your energy, aptitude and enthusiasm for this. Committed to maintaining the highest standards in early years care and education, you will take a keen interest in every child’s progress and ensure that objective-led planning supports each child’s continual development. You will work closely with key workers to monitor children’s progress, identifying next steps and progress towards the early learning goals. An excellent communicator, you will already have experience of managing and motivating a successful team.

You’ll hold a full and relevant early years qualification at Level 3 or above, with extensive working knowledge of the EYFS, and possess a good understanding of the OFSTED requirements and procedures for a pre-school setting. You’ll be looking to continue to develop yourself and your practice, and we will provide you with all the support and opportunities for professional development to enable this.
