Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pre-School Room Leader to oversee daily activities within our early childhood education setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for young children, ensuring their developmental needs are met through engaging and educational activities. This role requires strong leadership skills, management experience, and a genuine passion for working with children to support their growth and learning.

Duties

• Lead and supervise a team of nursery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of childcare and education are maintained
• Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate activities that promote early learning and development
• Monitor children's progress, documenting observations and liaising with parents and guardians regularly
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in the room at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment conducive to learning and play
• Support new staff members through training and mentorship programmes
• Collaborate with management to develop policies and procedures aligned with early childhood education standards
• Drive continuous improvement in childcare practices by staying informed of latest developments in early years education

Qualifications

• Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
• Extensive working knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
• Previous experience working directly with children in a nursery or preschool environment
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education or equivalent recognised qualification
• Valid driving licence is desirable for attending external activities
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
• Passionate about child development with a caring, patient demeanour
