Pre-School Special Educational Needs Coordinator

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-school SENCo to join our team, who will fulfil the requirements the Department for Skills and Education (DFSE) Code of Practice on the identification and assessment of special educational needs and to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Playgroup’s SEN policy in order to improve standards of achievement for all children.

You will need to have

• Full and relevant a level 3 early years or childcare qualification
• Proven experience working in an early years setting, 2 to 3 years minimum.
• Strong working knowledge of EYFS, child development and safeguarding
• Experience in supporting young children who live with SEND
• Skills in creating opportunities for learning
• Clear enhanced DBS check
• You are an advocate for safeguarding; making sure every child feels safe, valued and happy and that their well-being is promoted
• You are collaborative, you enjoy working in partnership with others and will within this role as SENCo work with your colleagues effectively communicating and building strong and positive relationships

Training available for Level 3 candidates without relevant SENCo qualifications. Pay rate would start at £12.87 until qualification achieved.

Minimum of 3 hours a week

Holiday entitlement, 28 days holiday pro-rata pay per annum.
Car-parking on site and setting is on bus route.
The Village Playgroup is located in Werrington, Peterborough.

Pay: £13.09 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 3.0 per week
