Preceptor for Advanced Practice Nursing Students

Rio Grande University is seeking preceptors for advanced practice nursing students (AGCNS track) in/near Morgantown, WV.

Expectations:
Preceptors are expected to mentor RN-licensed AGCNS students for 120-140 hours over the duration of one semester and complete an end-of-semester student evaluation. A $1500 stipend is paid per student following semester completion. You will also receive a service letter noting your mentorship hours. Preceptors are not employees of the university; students attend clinical preceptorship at the preceptor’s workplace.

We are in need of 1 preceptor to assist 1 student this semester (ending 12/11/26) and will have another opening again in the spring.

Preceptor responsibilities include the following: providing supervised clinical experiences aligned with CNS competencies, offering clinical guidance and professional role modeling, completing brief end-of-term student evaluations (no grading required).

We work diligently to minimize administrative burden. Our program provides clear clinical objectives and expectations, a dedicated faculty contact for support, and flexible scheduling based on your availability.

Qualifications:

• Must have active license in current practice field (MD, DO, NP, PA, CNS, CRNA, MSN-prepared RN in administration or education)
• 1+ years post-graduate experience in current specialty
• Strong leadership qualities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must obtain your employer’s approval and provide a facility contact for the university to establish an affiliation agreement
• This is an adult-gerontology track program. Preceptors working in direct patient care with only a pediatric population are ineligible.

Pay: $1,500.00 per year
