Precision CNC Milling Technician

About the Role

As a Precision CNC Milling Specialist, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality components by setting up and operating advanced multi-axis milling equipment. You will leverage your technical expertise in G&M coding and complex tooling to ensure production efficiency and maintain the highest standards of precision for our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis vertical milling machines to achieve precise component specifications.
• Execute complex setups and perform on-control programming to optimize machining cycles.
• Conduct rigorous first-article and in-process inspections to ensure all parts meet strict quality tolerances.
• Collaborate with shop leadership to troubleshoot operational challenges and refine setup parameters.
• Mentor junior team members on machining best practices and provide constructive performance feedback.
• Maintain accurate production documentation within shop floor management systems to ensure data integrity.
• Uphold a high standard of workplace safety and equipment cleanliness to foster an efficient manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in CNC vertical machine setup and operation for precision parts.
• Demonstrated proficiency in G&M code and Fanuc or Mazak control systems.
• Expertise in utilizing precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Strong ability to interpret complex blueprints and apply shop math to real-world scenarios.

Preferred Skills

• Formal machining certification or technical degree (e.g., MIMS).
• Direct experience with 3D mold machining and complex 2D/3D tooling.
• Background in manual machining techniques.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
