Do you notice when a dimension drifts a tenth? Do you instinctively check tool wear before it costs a part? At Northeast Tool (Matthews, NC—minutes from Charlotte), we’re looking for a CNC pro who lives for accuracy and thrives on building flight-worthy hardware.

Imagine This

You step up to a DMG Mori 5-axis, load material, verify your setup, and run parts to blueprint—catching variations before they happen. You tweak offsets, swap inserts, confirm dimensions with micrometers and calipers, and keep paperwork current. Between cycles, you deburr, keep your cell spotless with 5S, and prep the next run so the line never slows.

What You’ll Do

• Operate CNC equipment: 5-axis mills, mills, multi-axis mill-turns, lathes, and Wire EDMs
• Translate prints, sketches, specs, verbal direction, or sample parts into exact parts that meet all tolerances
• Change and secure tooling; recalibrate as needed to maintain control of the process
• Watch for malfunctions or process drift; adjust or notify a lead to protect quality
• Measure precisely with digital and hand metrology; document results
• Perform basic finishing (deburr, clean, tap/countersink with hand tools or drill press)
• Maintain tolerance discipline; monitor tool wear
• Load/unload raw stock and finished parts
• Support total preventive maintenance and uphold 5S
• Take on other tasks as assigned

Must-Haves

• High School Diploma/GED plus 1+ year in a metal-cutting machine shop (or an equivalent mix of education and experience)
• Comfort with shop math and GD&T
• Blueprint reading skills; fluent with thousandths and tenths
• Proven, repeatable measurement capability with micrometers and calipers
• Curious, teachable, and disciplined with procedures

Nice-to-Haves

• Associate’s degree (preferably in machine tool technology or industrial manufacturing) or two years of equivalent higher education
• Experience in an AS9100-certified environment
• Multi-axis experience; strong plus for DMG Mori, Grob, and/or Okuma
• Experience holding 2–5 tenths

When You’ll Work

• 1st Shift: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Mon–Fri, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (+$1/hour)
• 3rd Shift: Mon–Fri, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (+$2/hour). We don’t work Sundays, so you’ll report at 12:00 AM that night.
