What they need

Precision CNC Turning Specialist

Step into a day where your craft transforms metal into mission-ready parts. At Lusk Quality, your precision keeps production moving and customers satisfied.

A Day in the Life

You arrive to a clean, well-organized cell, review the work order, and study the blueprint and engineering drawing before you ever touch a control. You choose the right tools and inserts, set offsets, and bring a Mazak, Eurotech, Miyano, or Nakamura multi-axis lathe to life. Throughout the run, you watch spindle loads, make micrometer-level adjustments, and verify features with calipers and gauges. You keep quality, safety, and throughput in balance—always meeting company policies and manufacturing standards.

About Lusk Quality

Lusk Quality is a family-owned shop nearly five decades strong, specializing in high-volume precision turning and machining. We serve a broad range of industries across the U.S. and around the world, combining skilled people, advanced technology, and a customer-first mindset.

What You Will Do

  • Set up and run CNC lathes to produce precision components to specification.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to plan machining operations.
  • Select, install, and qualify cutting tools, attachments, and workholding.
  • Continuously monitor cycle performance and product quality, adjusting parameters to maintain spec.
  • Inspect parts using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines in top condition.
  • Uphold manufacturing principles, safety practices, and company policies at all times.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes (multi-axis experience valued).
  • Proficiency with hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Working knowledge of G and M codes and editing at the control as needed.
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with safe material handling for loading and unloading parts.
  • Understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
  • Troubleshooting aptitude and problem-solving skills for machine and process issues.
  • Proficiency in aerospace manufacturing.

The CNC Operator role focuses on meeting all manufacturing, safety, and policy requirements.
