Precision Grinding Machine Operator

About the Role

As a Precision Grinding Technician, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing operations by managing complex grinding processes to produce high-quality metal components. You will utilize your technical expertise to monitor equipment performance, ensure part compliance, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our production lines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and calibrate industrial grinding machinery to meet precise dimensional specifications.
• Perform routine quality inspections using gauges and precision measuring tools to identify defects.
• Assist with machine changeovers and setup adjustments to optimize production flow.
• Monitor equipment performance by listening for mechanical irregularities and adjusting parameters to maintain output quality.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks and replace grinding wheels to ensure continuous, safe operation.
• Manage material handling tasks, including the use of forklifts, hoists, and automated loading systems.
• Document production data accurately within the internal tracking system to maintain operational transparency.
• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve compliance issues promptly.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Proven mechanical aptitude and experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs consistently.
• Capability to stand and move throughout the facility for the duration of the shift.
• Commitment to following all safety, ergonomics, and environmental protocols.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.

Preferred Skills

• Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes.
• Familiarity with CNC machine controls or automated manufacturing systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills related to mechanical troubleshooting and part quality.
