What they need
Precision Jamb Fabrication Technician
Employer: Anchor Fabrication, LLC
Location: Onsite — Denton, TX
Schedule: 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Pay: DOE
A day in this role
You start your shift at 7:00 a.m., review the job packet for the day’s door-jamb components, and set the stage for production. You dial in angles and stops, exchange dies, and adjust saw tension so the cell is ready. Then you move between the saw, press brake, welding station, and mill—forming, joining, and machining metal pieces to exact specifications. After each run, you verify conformance using precision measuring tools and blueprints, document results, and make on-the-fly adjustments. If something’s off, you troubleshoot first, then collaborate with your supervisor and quality control to resolve it quickly. Throughout the day you follow FIFO material rotation with attention to metal hardness, uphold safety and quality, and remain flexible—jumping into other work areas when needed to keep production moving.
What you’ll do
- Set up jobs by reviewing packets, setting angles/stops, changing dies, and adjusting tension.
- Operate saw, press brake, welding, and milling equipment to fabricate jamb components.
- Inspect parts against specifications; read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues; escalate to supervisor/quality as needed.
- Maintain safety, product quality, and productivity targets within a fast-paced schedule.
- Apply FIFO material rotation and account for metal hardness factors.
- Support adjacent work areas as production priorities shift.
What you’ll bring
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and perform under schedule demands.
- Clear communication and basic computer proficiency.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Fluency in reading blueprints, sheet metal/customer drawings, diagrams, and weld symbols.
- Knowledge of shop practices and typical fabrication operations.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and adaptability to change.
- Flexibility to assist in other areas when required.
Education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior manufacturing experience required; experience in a metal forming environment preferred.
Benefits
- Health, Dental, and Vision insurance
- 401(k)
- Paid time off
