Impact you’ll make

• Own the construction, repair, and enhancement of injection molds, tooling, and fixtures for high-volume manufacturing.
• Safeguard uptime by diagnosing failures fast and executing accurate repairs—on the bench and in the press.
• Extend mold life through disciplined preventative maintenance and meticulous documentation.
• Partner with engineering to refine designs for robustness and manufacturability.

Core responsibilities

• Operate conventional equipment: manual mills and lathes, surface/cylindrical grinders, drill presses, band saws, and EDM machines.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, models, and specs (incl. GD&T) to machine within tight tolerances.
• Troubleshoot mold performance while installed in production equipment; recommend and implement corrective actions.
• Repair and maintain hot runner systems along with other mold subassemblies.
• Build electrodes, fixtures, and custom workholding to streamline setups and throughput.
• Support prototype tooling changes and engineering change notices (ECNs).
• Verify critical dimensions using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
• Complete accurate work orders, PM logs, inspection records, and tooling histories.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; follow all safety procedures.
• Assist with additional machining/tooling projects as needed.

Must-haves

• Proven experience with production tooling or injection molds in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong command of manual machining (milling, turning, grinding, drilling) plus EDM.
• Fluency in reading prints and applying GD&T.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of mold/tooling issues.
• Precision inspection and measurement skills.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance for molds and tooling.

Nice-to-haves

• Welding experience.
• CAD exposure (SolidWorks or comparable).
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
