Precision Winding Technician

About the Role

As a Precision Winding Technician, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing facility by managing high-speed equipment to produce high-quality adhesive tape products. You will leverage your mechanical aptitude to ensure precise tension control and winding accuracy, directly impacting the quality and consistency of our final output.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate advanced spooling machinery to achieve precise traverse or level-wound patterns.
• Execute unwind and rewind slitting processes to prepare raw materials for high-speed production.
• Optimize machine settings such as tension, pitch, and dwell to prevent defects and ensure uniform spool integrity.
• Perform material splicing and manage complex liners to maintain continuous production flow.
• Conduct rigorous quality inspections to verify product specifications, including width and length accuracy.
• Proactively troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform routine equipment maintenance to maximize operational uptime.
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace while adhering to all established safety protocols.
• Accurately document production metrics and report any process deviations to ensure quality control.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of experience in unwind/rewind slitting or similar converting operations.
• Demonstrated proficiency with pressure-sensitive tape materials and converting equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain production machinery.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and machine interface operation.
• High attention to detail with the ability to follow complex technical instructions.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience operating specialized spool winding equipment.
• Prior experience working with acrylic foam, transfer adhesives, or specialty tapes.
• Technical training or certification in a manufacturing or mechanical field.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks while standing for extended periods.
