Preconstruction Manager

For our client, we are seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.

This role will oversee early-stage project planning and pricing efforts for construction work, helping ensure bids, budgets, and procurement activities are aligned with project goals. You will collaborate closely with project, design, procurement, and contractor partners to support informed decision-making and successful project execution. The position also plays a key role in value engineering, bid evaluation, and contractor relationship management.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $114,800 – $165,200 annually

Responsibilities

• Manage buyout processes for subcontracted project activities
• Create comprehensive project cost estimates and presentation materials
• Prepare detailed bid instructions and solicitation packages
• Analyze contractor bids for scope, schedule, and cost alignment
• Coordinate cross-functional feedback for procurement compliance
• Lead value engineering sessions with project and design teams
• Collect and present performance data to guide contractor relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience
• 5-7 years of experience in construction or related fields
• Strong understanding of construction cost factors and unit costs
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in team settings
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and bid evaluation processes
