Preconstruction Manager

Location: Denver, Colorado (Hybrid or Remote), San Diego, CA, or Los Angeles, CA

Position Overview

Olsen Wireless is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join our growing team. This role is critical to our success in delivering accurate budgets, schedules, and constructability reviews for complex wireless projects. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical estimating experience, leadership ability, and client-facing communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preconstruction process for public safety and cellular DAS projects from concept through final proposal.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates in coordination with design and engineering teams.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
• Work closely with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless coordination and clear bid coverage.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, project interviews, and proposal presentations.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and preconstruction staff.
• Engage with clients and customers on current and upcoming work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of total construction experience, including at least 5 years in commercial preconstruction or estimating.
• Demonstrated experience with telecommunications, electrical, or MEP-heavy projects.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, means and methods, and market pricing.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Bidconnect, Bluebeam, or similar) and Excel-based takeoff tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
