Prefabrication Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a Prefabrication Technician to assemble, wire, label, and test AV equipment racks based on engineering schematics and project requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electronics, cable management, and rack fabrication, with a passion for high-quality workmanship and system reliability. This is a full-time, hourly position. Pay range: $20.00-$25.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and build AV equipment racks according to engineering drawings, wire diagrams, and standards.

• Terminate, route, and dress cables (audio, video, control, network, and power) for optimal function and visual quality.

• Label equipment and cabling per project specifications.

• Stage, test, and verify functionality of all rack-mounted components, including signal flow, power, and network connectivity.

• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to resolve discrepancies or design issues.

• Maintain an organized and safe work area and follow company safety protocols.

• Package and prepare completed racks for shipping or on-site installation.

• Document build progress and maintain an accurate inventory of components used.

• Assist in ongoing improvements to build processes and rack system designs.

• Assist with on-site prefabrication or installation tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in AV integration, electronics assembly, or related technical fields.

• Strong understanding of AV signal types, cable types, and rack-building best practices.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.

• Proficient in hand and power tools for rack fabrication and cable termination.

• High attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.

• Valid and current driver's license.

• Proficiency with Google Suite (Calendar, Chat, Docs, Keep, Meet, Sheets, Slides).

Travel

Occasional travel to job sites for prefabrication and installation support may be required.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
