Premium Cleaning Services Supervisor – Night Shift

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly professional Premium Cleaning Services Supervisor to join our luxury hotel team in Auckland on the night shift.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising the overnight cleaning operation and ensuring the hotel is maintained to exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the night.

Working while the hotel is operating overnight requires a high level of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail. You will play an important role in ensuring the hotel is beautifully presented and ready for guests and the morning operation each day.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise and coordinate the overnight cleaning team to ensure all assigned areas are cleaned and presented to luxury hotel standards.
2. Lead, motivate and support team members throughout the night shift.
3. Allocate duties and manage cleaning schedules according to hotel occupancy, events and operational requirements.
4. Conduct regular quality inspections of public areas, guest facilities, bathrooms, corridors, staff areas and other designated areas.
5. Ensure the hotel remains clean, hygienic and presentable throughout the night with minimal disruption to guests.
6. Maintain exceptional attention to detail and presentation in all guest-facing areas.
7. Ensure cleaning procedures comply with New Zealand Health and Safety requirements and hotel policies.
8. Monitor cleaning supplies, equipment and consumables and ensure adequate stock is available for the team.
9. Train, coach and mentor cleaning team members to ensure consistent service and cleaning standards.
10. Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback and support.
11. Liaise with the overnight hotel team, Housekeeping, Front Office, Maintenance and other departments as required.
12. Report maintenance issues, damage, safety concerns or hygiene matters promptly to the appropriate hotel department.
13. Respond professionally to cleaning and presentation requests from hotel departments during the night.
14. Assist with preparing public and guest areas for the following day's operations.
15. Ensure the hotel is presented to the highest standard for the morning team and arriving guests.
16. Handle guest interactions professionally and discreetly when required.
17. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate appropriate discretion when working around guests, VIPs and hotel operations.
18. Lead by example and maintain a positive, respectful and professional working environment.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

1. The successful candidate MUST come from a premium hotel background. - This is a non-negotiable.
2. Proven experience as a Cleaning Supervisor, Housekeeping Supervisor, Team Leader or similar role.
3. Previous experience in a luxury or five-star hotel, premium hospitality or high-end commercial environment is highly desirable.
4. 4-5 years' relevant experience is preferred.
5. Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and mentoring a team.
6. Strong communication and leadership skills.
7. The ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse team, including team members for whom English is an additional language.
8. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to luxury presentation standards.
9. Excellent organisation, time management and problem-solving skills.
10. A good understanding of workplace Health and Safety, hygiene and infection-control practices.
11. A professional, calm and discreet approach when working overnight in a luxury hotel environment.
12. The ability to work independently and make sound decisions during the night shift.
13. A hands-on approach and the physical ability to perform cleaning duties when required.
14. Reliability and flexibility to work overnight, weekends and public holidays.

Desirable Experience

1. Previous experience in a five-star or luxury hotel.- Required.
2. Housekeeping or overnight hotel operations experience.
3. Experience maintaining public areas and guest facilities to premium standards.
4. Experience preparing a hotel for the following day's operations.
5. Knowledge of professional cleaning equipment, products and procedures.

Working Hours
9:00 pm – 5:00 am

This is an overnight position, so applicants must be comfortable working regular night shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.
