Prep & Packaging Associate

At NeoCocoa Confections, we love to make chocolate confections as much as we love to eat them. We hope you do too! Our days consist of producing a high volume of toffee brittles and honeycomb candy for wholesale and retail. We also craft specialty confections, such as marshmallows.The Prep & Packaging Associate is involved in dishwashing, kitchen prep, and packaging and order fulfillment at NeoCocoa Confections and responsible for helping to maintain product quality, meet production deadlines, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

The Prep & Packaging Associate reports to the Production Manager.

Main Responsibilities and Duties (including but not limited to):

• Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment.
• Complete various kitchen prep tasks, involving scaling and mixing ingredients.
• Package honeycomb candy and toffee brittle (break, bag, and box).
• Perform various packaging tasks with a high level of detail.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Ensure that every item being produced meets NeoCocoa’s high standards of quality.

Maintain a Positive Work Environment

• Help to ensure that team members are working well together and that the working environment in the kitchen is a positive, supportive one.
• Use clear, open, honest communication with all team members.
• Bring any issues or concerns to the Production Manager or owner.

Qualifications

• Must have ServSafe Food Handler’s Card or obtain within 30 days of hire
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for entire duration of shift.
• Ability to perform repeated wrist movements.
• Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Superior organization skills, passion for learning, desire to grow
• Team-friendly attitude with ability to work independently
• Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Must be fluent in English.
