Prep Cook

Great service begins long before the first guest walks through the door.

Amendment is seeking Prep Cooks who understand that consistency, organization, and attention to detail are the foundation of a great kitchen.

Located at The Watershed development in downtown Sturgis, Amendment is a live-fire steakhouse built around craftsmanship, hospitality, exceptional ingredients, and a team-first culture.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced prep cook—or someone earlier in their culinary career who is serious about learning and developing their craft.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare ingredients according to recipes, production sheets, and Chef specifications
• Prepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, dressings, stocks, garnishes, and other menu components
• Portion ingredients accurately and consistently
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food
• Maintain clean and organized prep areas, refrigeration, and storage
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Communicate shortages, quality concerns, and production needs
• Minimize waste through careful preparation and proper food handling
• Assist line cooks and other kitchen team members when needed
• Help ensure the kitchen is fully prepared for service

What We’re Looking For

• Previous kitchen experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate
• Basic knife skills preferred
• Excellent attention to detail
• Organization and consistency
• Reliability and personal accountability
• Strong work ethic
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
• Curiosity and willingness to learn
• Pride in doing things correctly—not simply quickly
• Genuine interest in food and hospitality

At Amendment, there is no such thing as “just prep.” Every cut, sauce, garnish, and portion eventually becomes part of a guest's experience.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
