ABOUT CHEFNIC CATERING
ChefNic Catering is a Frisco-based production kitchen and catering company serving the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. We produce baked goods and prepared foods for wholesale, retail, and catering clients across DFW — everything from custom decorating to high-volume packaging, plus full-service catering for events of all sizes.
We're hiring a Prep Cook to join the production floor. All roles here are general to start — everyone comes in doing 2–4 tasks across the kitchen. You'll pitch in wherever the team needs it and specialize over time. Tasks may include pastry, decorating, baking prep, savory cooking, packaging, and catering support.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Hand-decorate desserts — cupcakes, cookies, brownies, chocolate apples, custom cakes — to approved specifications
- Pipe, frost, and finish products with consistent quality across runs of 100+
- Prepare pastry components: fillings, ganaches, frostings, custards, and decorative elements
- Assist with baking prep — scaling, mixing, panning, and oven loading
- Prep and cook savory items for catering events under chef direction
- Support packaging and finishing during peak production runs
- Help with event-day execution: plating, finishing, packout
- Prep and scale ingredients for the daily bake schedule
- Assist with production runs, panning, and oven loading
- Prep and cook savory items for catering events under chef direction

- Support packaging and finishing during peak runs
- Keep food-safety standards on every station, every shift
WHAT YOU BRING

- Strong eye for detail and a steady hand — you can replicate a design 50 times and the 50th looks likethe first
- Comfort with piping bags, fondant, edible printing
- Texas Food Handler card (or able to obtain within 60 days)
- Comfort with early shifts (typically starting between 5–7 AM)
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Culinary school grads, recent or near-graduating are encouraged to apply
- No task is beneath you — this team rolls up its sleeves together, and you're ready to step outside yourrole whenever the kitchen needs it
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand and wrist motion
- Working near hot ovens and in refrigerated walk-in cooler and freezer areas
