Prep Cook

What We Are Looking For:

• Passion for Italian Food: Enjoy and understand classic Italian dishes.
• Kitchen Experience: Culinary school training is an asset. Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or commercial kitchen is preferred. Understand the safe operation of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Cooking Skills: Able to prepare, cook, and plate food by following recipes and food specifications. Strong knife skills are an asset.
• Works Well Under Pressure: Able to work quickly and efficiently in a busy kitchen.
• Team Player: Works well with others, follows direction, and can also work independently.
• Clean & Organized: Maintains a clean workspace and follows proper food safety and hygiene standards.
• Additional: Complete other tasks as required and be prepared to help in other areas of the kitchen as needed
• Fluent in English (reading & writing)
• Certifications: Food Handler/Food Safe Certification and Smart Serve are assets.

Responsibilities:

-Preparing and cooking dishes to order for events and catering orders.

-Ensuring all food is prepared and presented to the highest quality.

-Assisting with food preparation for large events.

-Managing inventory of ingredients and supplies.

-Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.95 per hour
