About the Role:

The Old Salt at Lamie's Inn is looking for a talented and motivated Prep Cook to join our kitchen team in Hampton, NH! This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a beloved local dining institution where great food and warm hospitality come together. Responsibilities:

• Execute daily prep tasks including chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients to recipe specifications
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety standards
• Assist line cooks and kitchen staff during meal service to ensure smooth and timely operations
• Properly store and label all food items following FIFO (first in, first out) procedures
• Prepare sauces, stocks, dressings, and other mise en place items as directed by the Chef
• Monitor and rotate inventory, communicating low stock levels to kitchen management
• Support overall kitchen cleanliness including dish washing and end-of-shift breakdown and cleaning

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a professional kitchen or food service environment preferred
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification a plus)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive attitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
