Location: Peoria, Arizona | On-site | Full-time or part-time.

Pay range: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour | Schedule: Day and evening shifts available. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

About the Role

As a Prep Cook, you'll prepare ingredients and menu components that keep a busy, high-volume kitchen running smoothly. You'll follow established recipes, organize your workload, and help ensure the team has what it needs for service. This role is a good fit if you take pride in accurate, consistent work, stay organized, and can manage daily prep tasks independently while supporting the kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients through washing, chopping, portioning, and marinating.
• Make sauces, dressings, and other menu components according to standardized recipes.
• Follow prep lists and production schedules to keep adequate product available for service.
• Maintain consistent portions, product quality, and presentation standards.
• Label, date, rotate, and store food using first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures.
• Keep prep stations clean, organized, stocked, and compliant with food safety standards.
• Check freshness and communicate shortages or quality concerns to kitchen management.
• Reduce waste through accurate preparation, proper storage, and responsible ingredient use.
• Complete assigned prep within expected time frames while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Support line cooks and assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Basic knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
• Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and prep lists.
• Understanding of food storage, sanitation, and safe food handling.
• Organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity.
• Dependability, punctuality, and willingness to support teammates.
• Current Food Handler certification or ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of professional kitchen or food preparation experience.
• Experience in a high-volume restaurant.

Pay and Benefits

• Employment type: Full-time or part-time, W-2
• Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour, based on experience and skills.
• Schedule: Day and evening shifts available. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Benefits: A health benefits program is offered after 90 days of employment.
