Job Overview

Runyon’s Steakhouse is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and highly organized Prep Cook to support daily kitchen operations.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of consistency, and can execute daily production efficiently while maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, quality, and food safety.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works with a sense of urgency, communicates clearly, and understands how proper preparation contributes to successful restaurant service.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily prep lists accurately, efficiently, and within established deadlines.
• Prepare, portion, and process ingredients according to recipes and restaurant standards.
• Demonstrate proper knife skills, culinary techniques, and consistent portioning.
• Organize and prioritize prep tasks based on daily production needs.
• Maintain proper labeling, dating, storage, and FIFO rotation.
• Monitor product quality, freshness, and inventory levels.
• Communicate shortages, production concerns, and completed tasks to kitchen leadership.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked work areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures.
• Assist with additional kitchen production as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous professional kitchen or food preparation experience preferred.
• Strong knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and execute consistent results.
• Strong time management and the ability to work independently.
• Clear communication and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain productivity and focus throughout the shift.
• Reliable, punctual, and receptive to feedback.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
