Prep Cook

Job Summary

As a Prep Cook, you’ll help keep kitchen service moving by preparing ingredients and meals with care, consistency, and attention to food safety. You’ll follow recipes and work closely with kitchen staff to prepare food for service. You will be responsible for careful preparation and safe food handling help kitchen teams serve guests and diners reliable, well-prepared meals.

Duties

• Prepare ingredients and meals using appropriate knife skills and slicing techniques.
• Cook and portion food according to recipes, menus, and food safety requirements.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain clean work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Communicate with kitchen staff to coordinate preparation, serving, and timely food service.
• Follow safety standards in production and support meal preparation for restaurant, catering, or dietary service as needed.

Requirements

• Food preparation, cooking, cleaning, food handling, and food safety skills.
• Kitchen, food service, restaurant, food industry, or culinary experience is helpful; dietary department or dietary aide experience is also welcome.
• Ability to follow recipes, use kitchen equipment, and apply safe knife and slicing techniques.
• Clear communication and a dependable, team-focused approach to kitchen work.
• Menu planning, food safety management, catering, and serving experience are preferred.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 38.0 per week
