Prep Helper

About us At Boyd's Custom Painting, family is everything. We're a residential and commercial painting company right here in Tucson, and we take pride in our work and show up for each other. This is a great way to get into the painting trade - plenty of our painters started as helpers. What you'll do - Prep work is the job - about 80% of your day: masking, sanding, caulking, covering, and patching - Protect floors, furniture, and customer property before paint ever comes out - Keep the jobsite clean with daily end-of-day cleanup - Load, unload, and help keep the truck stocked and organized - Support the painters and learn the trade as you go What we're looking for - Willingness to do physical prep work all day - that's the job, and you have to want it - Painting experience is a plus, not required - work ethic matters more - Reliable transportation to Tucson-area jobsites - Authorized to work in the US - Able to do physical labor all day - ladders, lifting, on your feet - Full-time availability Monday-Friday, plus occasional Saturdays - Good attitude, coachable, and ready to be part of a crew - Takes pride in the work they do - non-negotiable - No smoking or vaping on customer property; clean, professional appearance Pay & terms - Starting pay: $17-$20/hour, based on experience - 30-day probationary period for every new hire - Attendance is everything. Show up on time, every day. If you can't make it 2 full weeks without calling in or showing up late, you'll be let go before the 30 days are up. We say this up front because we mean it. How to apply Apply through Indeed and we'll reach out for a quick phone screen. From there: in-person interview, two reference calls, and a decision. We move fast for the right person.
