Onigiri Time is a small business, onigiri street cart in Pasadena, and we’re looking for a reliable Prep Team Member to join our growing team!

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with food, moving quickly, staying organized, and being part of a small team.

POSITION DETAILS

Starting Pay: $18.50/hour
Typical Hours: 6:30 AM–11:00 AM
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Position: Part-Time

Our prep hours are generally around 6:30 AM–11:00 AM on Tuesday-Sunday, but the schedule can vary depending on our event schedule, prep needs, and how busy or slow business is that day. Some days may require additional hours or a different schedule.

Availability for all 6 days is a plus!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare ingredients and fillings for our onigiri
• Prepare rice and other ingredients
• Assemble and prep onigiri for the day
• Keep the prep area clean and organized
• Properly store and label ingredients
• Help with restocking and general kitchen/prep tasks
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Work efficiently as part of a small team
• Help with additional prep needs for events and busy days

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable working early mornings
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable standing and doing repetitive food-prep tasks
• Detail-oriented and able to follow recipes/instructions
• Clean and organized
• Positive attitude and willing to learn
• Food prep or kitchen experience is a plus, but not required

GROWTH & PAY

This position starts at $18.50/hour.

As you gain experience, demonstrate reliability, learn our prep process, and take on more responsibility, there are opportunities for pay increases and advancement within the prep team.

We want to train people who are interested in growing with our small business rather than simply filling a position.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

We are a small street-cart business, so every team member plays an important role. Some mornings will be busier than others, and our schedule may change based on events, prep volume, and business needs.
