Prepress Designer

Job Summary

Minuteman Press Arlington is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Prepress Designer to join our dynamic creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing print and digital design files for production, ensuring color accuracy, layout precision, and technical compliance across various media. In this position you will be responsible for proofing print ready files, ensuring quality, and corresponding with clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and finalize print-ready files, ensuring accurate color management, resolution, bleed, crop marks, and file specifications for diverse print projects such as packaging, signage, and promotional materials
• Collaborate with graphic designers, and other team members to review design files for technical accuracy before production
• Conduct quality checks on digital assets including images, typography, and layout consistency across multiple formats and media platforms
• Manage file organization and version control to streamline the production workflow
• Utilize graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and in some cases Canva / Affinity to optimize files for print and digital output
• Apply knowledge of color management techniques and print production processes to ensure vibrant and accurate color reproduction
• Assist in the creation of marketing materials including branding assets, mailing designs, and working with variable data importing

Qualifications

• Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing print design, digital art, typography, and layout work
• Proficiency in prepress processes including file preparation for print production and understanding of print specifications
• Technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), along with familiarity with other graphic design software
• Knowledge of color management systems to ensure consistent output across media
• Experience with motion graphics creation using Adobe After Effects or similar tools is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively
• Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams and external vendors

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
