Presales Solutions Architect

Location: Remote (U.S.) | Travel: ~20–30% for short on‑site customer visits

We're partnering with a rapidly growing data & cloud consultancy that is expanding its pre-sales organization. They are looking for a Solutions Architect who can blend technical depth with customer-facing leadership to support new business, guide clients through complex data initiatives, and ensure long-term success across their modern data platform offerings.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the technical sales lifecycle from initial discovery through post‑sale handoff and customer growth initiatives.
• Clearly articulate a portfolio of services across Managed Services, Data Engineering, and Machine Learning Engineering to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Build strong, strategic relationships with customers while acting as a trusted advisor throughout their data journey.
• Support proof‑of‑concepts and short technical engagements that validate solution design and drive deal momentum.
• Partner closely with account executives and delivery leaders to craft Statements of Work (SOWs) and shape solution proposals.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, meetups, and speaking engagements to enhance brand presence.
• Translate high‑level business objectives into actionable, scalable data engineering strategies and architectures.
• Manage customer expectations, provide post‑sales support when needed, and assist with escalations or project alignment.
• Scope complex data initiatives and define the right technical approach for enterprise-scale platform implementations.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of combined experience as a Solutions Architect and Data Engineer, with a track record of designing and supporting modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience expanding enterprise accounts, nurturing long-term customer relationships, and identifying opportunities to cross‑sell or up‑sell services.
• Strong background in data migration within large-scale production environments.
• Previous technical pre-sales experience with a strong blend of technical depth, customer engagement, and sales-oriented thinking.
• Expertise with modern data platforms and cloud technologies such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or Databricks.
• Advanced SQL abilities, including writing, debugging, and optimizing distributed or complex queries.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience defining large-scale solutions and scoping engineering activities for complex projects.
• Willingness to travel for short client meetings (typically 1–2 day trips , ~20–30%).
