Presales Solutions Engineer - VMware

For our client, we are seeking a Presales Solutions Engineer - VMware to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.

This role will serve as a trusted technical partner throughout the sales cycle, helping shape private cloud solutions that align with customer needs and business goals. You will work closely with prospects and internal sales teams to assess existing environments, uncover opportunities, and develop solution recommendations. The position combines technical depth, customer-facing communication, and consultative problem-solving in a presales setting.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $230,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead technical presales engagements and own the technical strategy throughout the sales cycle
• Work with customers to design private cloud solutions
• Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities
• Assess existing IT environments and provide comprehensive analysis and recommendations
• Create and present proposals and presentations as required by the sales process
• Identify and resolve complex technical and operational challenges for customers
• Stay current on technology trends and engage in self-study to enhance job-related knowledge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience required
• 5+ years in a technical role
• 5+ years of experience with virtualization and related technologies preferred
• 3+ years in a presales role
• Advanced certifications such as VCAP-DCV Design and Deploy Certification (minimum) or VCDX-DCV certification (optional)
• Relevant professional certifications in Networking, Storage, GitOps/DevOps, Automation, Infrastructure/Containers
