Preschool Intern - Fall 2025

WNCSource offers a paid internship position for Henderson County High School students, which involves assisting teachers in our preschool centers located in Hendersonville, NC.

This is a temporary position paying a stipend of $2,000 at the completion of 120 required hours.

Teacher responsibilities include:

• Engage in activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the WNCSource Head Start program, while building and maintaining a positive, nurturing, and supportive relationship with the children and families.
• Support the implementation and learning experiences as part of the Head Start curriculum that address physical health and development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, language development and communication, and cognitive development.
• Engage in rotation-specific tasks as assigned by the department contact.
• Help maintain a safe environment by recognizing and responding to safety hazards in the workplace, including reporting unsafe workplace conditions appropriately and on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current high school junior or senior who has completed EDU 119, or the child development or TAAP class, with a GPA of 2.7 or higher.
• Experience teaching preschool children is preferred.
