Beansprouts Preschool is looking for a Preschool Maternity Replacement Teacher from February - June 2027!

Founded in 1980 in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Beansprouts offers preschool, after-school, and day camp programming and serves children from ages 1.9 to 9. SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Beansprouts is seeking a warm, caring, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our preschool team as a maternity leave replacement teacher in a 4’s classroom from February - June 2027. We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and enjoys creating a nurturing, engaging, and joyful learning environment alongside a supportive team.

This is a temporary position with the opportunity to extend!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities
• Interact, support, and work with parents by sending reports, newsletters and other communication and also meet one-on-one to provide feedback
• Create a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment
• Provide leadership and guidance to your teaching team
• Nurture the development of children
• Engage in Ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field, OR be working towards a Degree in Early Childhood Education and be study plan eligible (minimum of 90 credits required)
• Must possess at least one to two years of teaching experience in an established early childhood program.
• Must communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues and families
• Must be team-oriented, energetic, creative and nurturing
• Must be available to work Monday - Friday from February - June 2027

HOURS:

• Monday - Friday
• Flexible hours: 8am - 4pm OR 8am - 1:30pm
• 27.5 - 36.25 hours per week
• Opportunity for extension!

**As per Department of Health regulations, a background check and medical will be required for employment.
