Preschool Teacher or Assistant Teacher

About the role

2% Preschool is seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher or Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This is a full-time position based in Damansara Jaya, Selangor. In this role, you will play a crucial part in nurturing and educating young children during their formative years, creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that supports their developmental milestones and fosters a love of learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate learning activities and lessons that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development

• Create and maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity

• Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining detailed records of their development and learning outcomes

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, behaviour, and development

• Manage classroom behaviour and discipline in a positive, supportive manner that promotes emotional growth

• Assist with daily routines including meals, hygiene, nap times, and outdoor activities

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and implement curriculum activities and special events

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times

What we're looking for

• A qualification in Early Childhood Education, Preschool Teaching, or a related field (Diploma or Bachelor's degree preferred)

• Strong knowledge of early childhood development stages and best practices in early childhood education

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

• Patient, nurturing temperament with genuine enthusiasm for working with young children

• Ability to plan, organise, and deliver engaging learning activities tailored to different age groups and learning styles

• Creativity and problem-solving skills to adapt to changing needs and create innovative learning experiences

• A commitment to maintaining high standards of child safety and welfare

• Flexibility and willingness to support additional duties as required

• Able to teach a range of subjects including Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia
