Preschool Teacher's Aide

We are looking to hire a Teacher’s Aide to work part-time in our Mini Makers™ Preschool Program on weekday mornings from 8:00am-1:00pm (25 how). This position has options to begin in November 2026. The Teacher’s Aide is supervised by the Lead Teacher and Program Director and serves as a primary support role to complete the following responsibilities:

• Assist in a classroom under the supervision and direction of the Lead Teacher and Assistant Teachers
• Support the positive growth and development of children ages 2-5 years old in a play-based, academic setting through experiential learning
• Provide guidance to instructional staff to help resolve issues with students when necessary
• Ensure the safety of all children in our program
• Closely follow licensing regulations related to child care
• Prep daily meals and snacks for students and clean up afterwards
• Participate in light housekeeping to sanitize and reset the space daily

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 18 years of age
• 6 ECE units (completed or in progress)
• Currently CPR/First Aid Certified (8-hour EMSA training)
• Clean LiveScan and Federal Background Check
• Complete all State-Required Hiring Paperwork (W4, TB clearance, immunizations, etc.)
• Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal formats and collaborate effectively in a professional environment
• Interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate warmth and empathy for adults and children
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds safely and climb stairs with ease

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in or has completed a Bachelor’s Degree at an accredited higher education institution
• Minimum of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
• At least 6-months professional childcare experience
• Completed 8-hour Preventative Health and Nutrition training

COMPENSATION

• This position is paid hourly ranging $17.00-$18.00/hour (commensurate with experience)
• You will accrue paid sick leave (1 hours for every 30 hours you work) that you can begin using 90 days after you start
• Option to save for retirement using the CalSavers Plan
• Scheduled time off annually during federal holidays and breaks (unpaid unless it is a scheduled Staff In-Service Day)
• Additional $100/month Wellness Stipend paid at the end of a full calendar month for employees that work at least 20 hpw
• Future raises will be evaluated based on enrollment and performance (every 6-12 months)
• Because this is a part-time position, it is exempt from additional benefits

BUSINESS BACKGROUND: The Makers Place™ is a multipurpose coworking space for parents to work, create, connect and collaborate while their young children are cared for onsite. We also operate a Center-Based Preschool with two developmentally designed classrooms that operates weekdays from 7:00am-6:00pm (LIC 343623934). Our philosophy centers around teaching character education through play and developmentally-based academic learning (letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc) and lots of student-directed, exploratory play and creativity.
