Notre Dame High School, one of Southern California’s most respected Catholic, Holy Cross-sponsored college-preparatory schools, seeks its next President, with an anticipated start date of July 2027. Approaching its 80th year, Notre Dame enters this search from a position of strength: a stable, mission-driven community of 1,250 students with a loyal alumni base, growing philanthropic support, and a five-year strategic vision ready for a leader to carry forward. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President holds ultimate responsibility for Notre Dame’s academic excellence, financial health, fundraising, and stewardship of its mission and campus. The role calls for a leader who can keep the Holy Cross charism alive in daily school life, guide a talented senior leadership team, and strengthen Notre Dame’s long-term financial foundation while championing the school to every constituency it serves, from families and faculty to alumni and donors.

Requirements

We’re seeking a practicing Catholic with at least 10 years of senior leadership experience at a mission-based secondary institution, including managing a large, complex organization. Strong candidates bring proven fundraising and community relationship-building skills, a collaborative and transparent leadership style, and the executive presence to build consensus across a diverse, multi-stakeholder community. Current and former heads of school are encouraged to apply, as are experienced educational leaders ready for their first presidency.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
