What they need
Role: President
As President at Concrete CEO, you’ll help build and run a business that helps concrete contractors grow through marketing delivered by our team and education developed through the Founder’s experience running his own concrete business. You’ll work directly with the Founder to turn the company’s vision into execution, own business performance, and build the team and processes needed to scale.
The foundation is already here: an established business, existing offers, customers, and a team. Your job is to improve what we’ve built and take over running the business, allowing the Founder to focus more on scaling his concrete business and creating content that drives growth for Concrete CEO. That means understanding what drives growth, improving our products and services, strengthening sales, and making sure the business operates profitably.
This is not a role for someone who has only managed other people’s plans. We’re looking for someone who has built something, driven measurable results, and knows how to take ownership when the answer isn’t obvious.
The Founder will continue to be the face of the business and provide strategic direction. You’ll own day-to-day execution, make decisions, solve problems, and keep the company moving forward. We want someone who can operate with autonomy while communicating clearly and working closely with the Founder. Together, you’ll establish clear decision-making authority around hiring, spending, pricing, and major business changes.
Responsibilities
- Drive client results: Own the performance of our client marketing services across paid advertising, SEO, local marketing, and lead generation. Lead and hold the delivery team accountable, identify opportunities to improve, and step in directly when needed to generate more qualified leads and improve return on investment.
- Improve the product: Understand what customers need, identify gaps in our offers, and improve the product, delivery, and customer experience to create better outcomes.
- Own sales: Strengthen the sales process, improve conversion, help close deals, and build a repeatable system for turning opportunities into revenue.
- Own business performance: Own the company’s P&L, budget, revenue growth, and profitability. Make disciplined decisions about hiring, spending, pricing, and capacity.
- Lead the team: Set clear priorities, establish accountability, develop people, and build systems that allow the company to operate without depending on the Founder for every decision.
- Execute and improve: Identify the biggest constraints in the business, solve them, measure results, and continuously improve what is working.
Requirements
- Proven ability to build or grow a business, product, or marketing engine with measurable results. We care more about what you’ve accomplished than how many years you’ve worked.
- Exceptional marketing ability. You understand paid ads, SEO, local marketing, lead generation, conversion, and how to connect marketing activity to revenue and profit.
- Previously led and grown a business with at least seven figures in annual revenue, with direct responsibility for its P&L, team, and operating results. You’ve been accountable for the numbers, not just advised on them.
- Strong business-building instincts. You can identify what is holding a business back, prioritize the right opportunities, and turn ideas into measurable improvements.
- High ownership and resourcefulness. You take initiative, follow through, solve problems independently, and stay accountable for outcomes.
- Humble, trustworthy, and easy to work with. You can handle direct feedback, change your mind when the facts warrant it, and build strong relationships with the team.
- Self-directed and comfortable with autonomy. You can make decisions and move quickly while keeping the Founder informed on important issues.
- You make the whole team better and are someone others enjoy building with.
Results
- Concrete CEO generates more profit.
- Measurable improvements in qualified lead volume, conversion, and return on investment for our clients.
- Client satisfaction and retention stay high, and customer service stays a priority.
- Sales becomes more consistent, with stronger conversion and a repeatable process for closing deals.
- The team has clear priorities, stronger accountability, and better systems for executing without unnecessary bottlenecks.
- The Founder is no longer the default person responsible for pushing every initiative forward.
- The company becomes better organized, more scalable, and less dependent on any one person.
Schedule
This is a full-time leadership role with significant responsibility and meaningful upside tied to the company’s success. We’re looking for someone ambitious, driven, and excited to invest the effort it takes to build a great business.
You should bring a strong work ethic, a sense of urgency, and the flexibility to work beyond standard business hours when needed. You’ll have autonomy in how you manage your responsibilities, with high expectations for follow-through, responsiveness, and results.
Location
- In person — Fort Collins, Colorado.
- You’ll work from our office and collaborate closely with the Founder to set priorities, make decisions, and lead the business.
- Candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate before starting. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
- You’ll also lead and collaborate with remote team members, maintaining clear communication and accountability across the company.
CompensationBase Salary
- Base Salary: 100,000–120,000 per year.
Profit Share Over Baseline
- Profit Share:
- You earn 25% of annual pre-tax profit above the established profit baseline.
- The baseline, how profit is calculated, and payment timing will be defined in the written compensation agreement.
Phantom Equity on Exit
- Phantom Equity Pool:
- You are granted phantom equity equal to 10% of Concrete CEO’s sale proceeds, subject to vesting and the terms of the written phantom equity agreement.
- Vesting Schedule:
- Total vesting period: 4 years from your start date.
- 1-year cliff: no vesting occurs if employment ends before 12 months.
- The agreement will define the vesting schedule after the cliff, how sale proceeds are calculated, and the treatment of vested awards if employment ends.
What Success Looks Like
We’re looking for someone who wants to build a great business, not simply occupy a senior position. You should be energized by ownership, solving difficult problems, developing people, and seeing the measurable impact of your work.
The right person will have the judgment to know what matters most, the ability to execute without constant direction, and the character to build something meaningful with the team.
Concrete CEO’s Core Values
Our core values define how we work, how we treat people, and what we expect from the people building Concrete CEO. The right person for this role should embody these values through their actions and decisions.
Competitive Greatness
Be your best when your best is needed. Embrace challenges and constantly improve. We look for someone who enjoys difficult problems, holds themselves to high standards, and is committed to getting better over time.
Impeccable Character
Act with honesty, integrity, and high moral standards in everything you do. Treat people with respect and kindness while maintaining high expectations. We support our teammates when they struggle and help them get back on track.
“Speed Is King” / Action Oriented
Move with purpose, implement quickly, and respond to customers and partners promptly. Don’t rush carelessly, but don’t let unnecessary delays hold the business back. Take initiative, tackle problems directly, and turn decisions into action.
Candor
Communicate openly and honestly while remaining supportive. Give and receive direct feedback, address problems early, and be transparent with the Founder and the team. We value honest conversations that help everyone improve and move forward.
