What they need

Build a New Engineering Business Within a Growing Electrical Services Platform

Allied Services Group is building a national platform of electrical and infrastructure services businesses. We partner with strong operating companies and provide the capital, resources, and shared expertise to accelerate growth while preserving the technical credibility, customer relationships, and entrepreneurial mindset that made each business successful.

As Allied continues to expand, we are launching a new engineering business focused on protection and control, substations, SCADA, and facility engineering for utilities, electric cooperatives, and industrial clients.

We are looking for a President to build and lead this business.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who has successfully built an engineering office, division, or business line. The President will define the strategy, develop client relationships, recruit the team, establish the technical and operating infrastructure, and own the financial performance of the business.

This is not a role focused on maintaining an established organization. It is an opportunity to create one with the support, customer relationships, and financial resources of a broader services platform behind it.

What You Will Build

  • The market strategy: Define the initial service offering, target customers, geographic priorities, pricing, and path to scale.
  • The client base: Develop and expand relationships with utilities, cooperatives, and industrial organizations.
  • The team: Recruit and lead the engineering managers, project managers, engineers, and designers required to support growth.
  • The operating model: Establish technical standards, project systems, quality controls, software, insurance, and professional registrations.
  • The financial engine: Build and manage the annual operating plan with accountability for revenue, margin, backlog, utilization, working capital, and cash.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute the business plan for Allied's engineering platform.
  • Lead business development and serve as the senior relationship owner for key clients.
  • Develop a healthy pipeline and backlog through direct market relationships and collaboration with Allied's operating companies.
  • Establish the initial service mix, pricing model, market priorities, staffing plan, and investment requirements.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing engineering organization.
  • Serve as the senior licensed engineer and establish the quality program for all sealed deliverables.
  • Implement the systems and processes required to manage project delivery, utilization, risk, and financial performance.
  • Establish engineering firm registrations, multistate licensing, professional liability coverage, and other required infrastructure.
  • Set pricing and contract terms in partnership with project leadership and Allied's executive team.
  • Report regularly to the CEO on financial performance, pipeline, backlog, project delivery, cash, hiring, and material risks.
  • Build a culture grounded in safety, technical excellence, responsiveness, accountability, and customer trust.

What We Are Looking For

  • Active Professional Engineer license and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
  • At least 15 years of utility or industrial engineering experience.
  • Five or more years leading a business, office, or engineering group with P&L responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success launching, building, or materially scaling an engineering office, division, or business line.
  • Direct business development experience and established credibility with utility, cooperative, or industrial clients.
  • Working knowledge of protection and control, substation, and SCADA engineering.
  • Experience managing engineering firm registration and professional licensure across multiple states.
  • Ability to recruit respected technical talent and establish the systems, standards, and accountability required for consistent delivery.
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial leadership style with strong commercial and financial judgment.

Why Allied

  • Build a business with meaningful autonomy.
  • Operate with the resources and backing of a broader platform.
  • Leverage existing customer relationships and operating-company capabilities.
  • Create an engineering organization from the ground up.
  • Establish a strategically important capability with the potential to scale nationally.
  • Join a leadership team focused on building a differentiated, long-term services platform.

The mandate is clear: build a technically excellent, commercially strong engineering business that clients trust, talented engineers want to join, and Allied can scale over time.
