Press Brake Operator

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that all fabricated parts meet strict quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. Duties

• Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring proper tooling and machine calibration for each job
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine bending specifications and measurements
• Measure finished parts using precision measurement instruments to verify conformance with quality standards
• Adjust machine settings based on material type, thickness, and desired bend angles for optimal results
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on press brake equipment to ensure reliable operation
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow, troubleshoot issues, and optimize production efficiency
• Maintain detailed records of production runs, measurements, and quality inspections for traceability and reporting

Skills

• Proficiency in operating press brake machines with a strong understanding of tooling setup and machine operation
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications
• Skilled in measuring parts accurately using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision instruments
• Mechanical knowledge of forming machines, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming, and machining processes such as CNC laser cutting or plasma cutting is a plus
• Familiarity with safety standards in manufacturing environments and adherence to safety protocols during machine operation
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, metal forming techniques, and assembly processes
• Basic shop math skills necessary for measuring, calculating bend allowances, and ensuring precision in machining tasks
• Ability to operate hand tools, tooling equipment, forklifts (preferred), and other manufacturing tools efficiently
• Strong mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with attention to detail for quality control purposes

Pay: $24.80 - $26.00 per hour
