Press Brake Operator

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled CNC Press Brake Operator to operate and set up the AMADA HRB-1003 Press Brake for precision bending of sheet metal components. The candidate should be able to interpret engineering drawings, perform machine setup, ensure product quality, and achieve production targets while following all safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation

• Operate AMADA HRB-1003 CNC Press Brake safely and efficiently.
• Load and run CNC bending programs using the AMNC 4i controller.
• Perform machine setup, tooling change, and first-piece approval.
• Produce components as per production plan and engineering drawings.
• Monitor machine performance during production.

Tooling & Setup

• Select appropriate punches and dies for each job.
• Set back gauge positions and bending parameters.
• Verify bend sequence and tooling before production.
• Minimize setup time and ensure proper tool alignment.

Quality Control

• Read and understand engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Check bend angles, dimensions, and part quality using measuring instruments.
• Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspection.
• Identify and report defects immediately.
• Maintain minimum rejection and rework.

Production

• Meet daily production targets.
• Ensure correct material identification before processing.
• Handle materials carefully to avoid damage.
• Coordinate with Laser, Turret, Welding, and Stores teams for smooth production flow.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Never bypass machine safety devices.
• Maintain 5S standards around the machine.
• Report unsafe conditions, machine abnormalities, and accidents immediately.

Daily Maintenance

• Clean machine and tooling at the end of every shift.
• Perform daily operator maintenance as per checklist.
• Report hydraulic, electrical, tooling, or mechanical issues to Maintenance.

Required Skills

• Experience operating CNC Press Brake machines (AMADA preferred).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and bend schedules.
• Knowledge of bend allowance, bend deduction, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier caliper, steel rule, height gauge, and angle gauge.
• Basic knowledge of CNC controller operation.
• Good understanding of quality and safety requirements.

Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, Turner, or equivalent.
• Experience: 25 years in CNC Press Brake operation.
• Experience with AMADA Press Brakes and AMNC 3i/4i Controller will be an added advantage.
