Job Title: Press Operator

Position Reporting: This position reports to the Production Manager.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday: 7:00 am – 4:-30 pm
Extended hours may be required during the peak of busy season, running May-July.

Compensation: This is a full-time, hourly position with a hourly rate based on experience and skills.

Areas of Responsibility include but are not limited to:

The Press Operator runs our automatic screen-printing presses and keeps custom apparel production on schedule. You’ll set up and break down print jobs, load garments at a high pace, troubleshoot the press and catch quality issues before orders move on. This role suits an experienced printer who stays sharp and steady under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up print jobs on automatic presses, at a rate of about 10 minutes per screen.
• Break down jobs and screens after printing.
• Load a variety of garments onto the press at up to 500 pieces per hour to keep up with the production schedule.
• Troubleshoot press problems and make adjustments to keep production running.
• Quickly spot and fix print quality issues such as misalignment, ink problems and defects.
• Print with water-based and discharge inks.
• Handle routine press maintenance and cleaning.
• Follow press safety procedures at all times.
• Work overtime or weekends when needed, especially during peak season (May through July).

Qualifications

• Experience with automatic screen printing, preferably on M&R and ROQ presses.
• Working knowledge of press operation, setup and safety.
• Comfortable with water-based and discharge inks.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment

Physical Demands
This position requires the employee to stand for extended periods of time in a non-climate-controlled work area. The employee must be able to maneuver around printing equipment, narrow aisles, and lift up to 50 pounds.
