We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Electrical Foreman with a valid California General Electrician Certification to lead and oversee electrical installations on public works projects.

The ideal candidate is more than an experienced electrician. We are looking for a proven leader who can effectively manage crews, coordinate with multiple trades, maintain labor productivity, protect project budgets, and deliver quality work safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Field Operations

  • Supervise, coordinate, and oversee electrical installations in accordance with project specifications, schedules, electrical codes, and safety requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, train, and develop teams of journeyman electricians and apprentices while establishing clear performance expectations.
  • Plan and execute daily and weekly work activities to maintain production goals and project milestones.
  • Coordinate electrical installations with general contractors, project managers, subcontractors, and other trades to minimize conflicts and delays.
  • Read and interpret electrical, architectural, and structural drawings, blueprints, schematics, and project specifications.
  • Identify potential installation challenges and implement efficient, innovative solutions.

Labor Productivity & Budget Accountability

  • Monitor labor productivity, manpower utilization, and installation progress against project budgets.
  • Develop short-term manpower forecasts and work plans to support project schedules.
  • Identify labor inefficiencies, potential cost overruns, and opportunities to improve production.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to review project progress, labor hours, material costs, and budget performance.
  • Maintain accountability for crew performance, quality, and efficient use of company resources.

Safety & Quality Control

  • Conduct safety meetings, enforce jobsite safety procedures, and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC requirements, OSHA regulations, and applicable local and state electrical codes.
  • Monitor installation quality, conduct field inspections, and ensure work meets company standards and project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve electrical issues, installation deficiencies, and jobsite safety concerns.

Materials, Documentation & Communication

  • Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, inventory management, and equipment needs to maintain productivity.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower records, production tracking, and other required project documentation.
  • Communicate project progress, scheduling concerns, manpower needs, and potential risks to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with clients, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings and provide accurate updates on jobsite progress.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Required: Valid California General Electrician Certification (State-Certified Journeyman Electrician).
  • Preferably 7+ years of experience as an Electrical Foreman or in a comparable field leadership role, with hands-on experience managing public works and prevailing wage projects.
  • Strong understanding of prevailing wage project requirements and public works construction practices.
  • Proven experience supervising electricians and apprentices on commercial electrical projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage labor productivity, manpower planning, project schedules, and budgets.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, architectural, and structural blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in commercial lighting controls and electrical systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local electrical codes, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Experience coordinating installations with multiple trades and general contractors.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and capable of making sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and Bluebeam.
