Preventative Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

The Preventative Maintenance Technician supports safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations by completing routine inspections, lubrication, cleaning, basic repairs, and preventive maintenance on recycling processing equipment. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for an employee with mechanical aptitude, a strong commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn industrial maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

· Complete preventive maintenance checklists for conveyors, sorters, balers, shredders, and related equipment.

· Inspect equipment, identify abnormal conditions, and report safety hazards or repair needs.

· Assist maintenance technicians with repairs, parts replacement, jam removal, and corrective maintenance.

· Follow Lockout/Tagout, machine-guarding, PPE, and all other company safety procedures.

· Document inspections and completed work in the CMMS and report parts or inventory needs.

· Maintain clean, organized work areas and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams.

Required Qualifications

· Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial maintenance practices.

· Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools and follow written and verbal instructions.

· Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and commitment to workplace safety.

· Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and work around industrial equipment.

· Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and wear required PPE.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical coursework or experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, recycling, warehouse, construction, agriculture, welding, electrical systems, or a related environment; basic computer skills; and forklift certification or the ability to obtain it.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
