Pricing Manager

A leading global legal practice is seeking a Pricing Manager to join their London-based Commercial Finance function. As Pricing Manager, you will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing expert advice on pricing strategies, supporting commercial projects, and advancing the firm's pricing agenda. You will enjoy flexible working and occasional travel across the various EMEA offices.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Advise Partners on maximising client relationship value by utilising diverse pricing techniques, modelling financial impacts, and supporting client-facing engagements when required.
• Partner with Client Relationship Partners and the Client Development team to provide comprehensive financial and commercial support, planning deployment and investment strategies to drive profitability.
• Deliver senior finance support for commercial improvement projects across EMEA offices as needed, ensuring high visibility as a subject matter expert in pricing and commercial matters.
• Promote internal adoption of pricing tools by presenting to key stakeholders, encouraging consistent approaches that enhance profitability and market awareness.
• Educate stakeholders involved in pricing proposals and approvals, advancing pricing as a strategic tool for building stronger client relationships.
• Assist Partners in developing budgets and monitoring performance for complex litigation matters, advocating effective legal project management discipline where necessary.
• Support annual reviews of standard rates alongside Commercial Finance colleagues to maximise profitability while considering practice mix, market realities, compensation, and costs.
• Establish strong working relationships with other support functions such as Business Development leads to maintain policies and processes for effective management of pricing for transactions, bids, and panel appointments.
• Collaborate with the Transform function to optimise legal process, people, and technology for improved commercial outcomes for both the firm and its clients.
• Monitor industry pricing practices among major competitors, assess key trends, develop pricing models for legal services, and track profitability and implementation of those models.
• Provide post-matter financial analysis and associated business information to stakeholders aiming to improve matter financial performance.
• Support ad hoc commercial and pricing-related initiatives as required by senior leadership.

Requirements of the role:

• A minimum of four years' relevant experience in pricing roles; legal sector experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen paired with exceptional analytical abilities and advanced financial modelling skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate finance perspectives to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent time management capabilities enabling you to manage multiple priorities calmly during periods of conflicting deliverables.
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence senior stakeholders positively and negotiate desired outcomes collaboratively.
• Proven presentation skills with experience delivering internal training sessions aimed at increasing adoption of best practices.
• Dedication to professional growth demonstrated through hard work and commitment; willingness to act as a role model for junior staff by sharing knowledge generously.
• A transparent approach combined with collaborative teamwork; experience working across varied cross-functional teams towards shared business objectives.
• Degree-level education is desirable but not mandatory; deep understanding of legal products or services is considered an advantage.
