Pricing, Tendering & Cost Estimation Engineer – Events & Contracting

Reporting To: Head of Pricing Department

Job Purpose Responsible for managing the pricing and tendering process from opportunity receipt through final cost completion. This includes reviewing tender documents, specifications, understanding the scope of work, quantity take-offs, and accurately pricing event and contracting works to support competitive and commercially viable bids in the Saudi market.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and review tender and opportunity documents, including RFPs, specifications, drawings, BOQs, schedules, and technical and commercial requirements.
• Clearly identify the scope of work, mandatory requirements, missing or unclear items, and cost-related risks; prepare necessary clarifications and contribute to bid/no-bid assessments.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and review BOQs to identify discrepancies, omissions, and any cost-impacting work items that may not have been included.
• Develop detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, fabrication, rental, transportation, lifting, installation, dismantling, operations, logistics, subcontractors, overheads, and execution-related risks.
• Price event-related works including exhibitions, conferences, event spaces, booths, stages, platforms, décor, fit-out works, temporary structures, printing, branding, furniture, lighting, sound, LED screens, audiovisual systems, and supporting services.
• Price civil, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and finishing works, with a solid understanding of execution methods and the labor, equipment, and material requirements for each scope.
• Coordinate with the Riyadh team, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain current and realistic pricing for the Saudi market, ensuring that pricing fully covers the required scope and is practically executable within the project timeline.
• Recommend alternative materials, execution methods, and sourcing options that help reduce costs and improve bid competitiveness without compromising specifications or quality.
• Prepare a clear final cost summary highlighting key assumptions, exclusions, risks, and critical pricing points before final price approval.
• Maintain and regularly update the pricing database and leverage historical project costs and actual post-project results to improve future estimates.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong practical experience in pricing, cost estimation, and tender analysis, with direct experience in the events and contracting sectors, including fit-out works.
• Previous experience pricing projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a strong understanding of prevailing market prices for materials, labor, equipment rental, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and BOQs and translate project requirements into accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
• Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets and numerical analysis, with a high level of accuracy, speed, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
• Good ability to read and understand technical and commercial documents in English.
