Position: Primary Associate Teacher

Location: Narayana Etechno school, Salem

Department: Primary Section

Reports To: Primary Coordinator / Principal

Job Summary

The Primary Associate Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in delivering high-quality education to students in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The role involves assisting with classroom instruction, student supervision, lesson preparation, assessments, and creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that promotes the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of young learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
• Support classroom management and maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist in preparing teaching aids, worksheets, learning materials, and classroom displays.
• Provide individual and small-group support to students requiring additional academic assistance.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, assemblies, field trips, lunch breaks, and other school events.
• Assist in conducting assessments, maintaining student records, and preparing progress reports.
• Encourage students' participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
• Foster students' social, emotional, and communication skills through positive interactions.
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and discipline of students at all times.
• Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and parents to support students' overall development.
• Participate in staff meetings, training programs, workshops, and school functions.
• Support the implementation of school policies, child protection guidelines, and CBSE regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) from a recognized institution.
• Graduation in any relevant discipline.
• CTET or State TET qualification is preferred, where applicable.
• Prior experience in a CBSE primary school is desirable.

• Understanding of child psychology and primary education practices.
• Strong classroom management and organizational abilities.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with digital teaching tools.
