Primary Care Physician

The role

Full-scope outpatient primary care for a senior population. Most offices are solo-provider. You own your panel, you manage continuity, and you work in a quality-based model where the measure is patient outcomes, not throughput. Support staff on site, an MSO group behind you on quality tracking and trends, and a schedule built to let you spend real time in the room.

Day to day

● 10 to 15 patients a day. Panel is almost entirely Medicare Advantage: 65 and older, or under 65 with a qualifying disability. Higher acuity than a general adult panel.

● Four well visits a year per patient, proactive outreach to fragile and at-risk patients, same-day urgent appointments, transitional care management.

● eClinicalWorks is the EMR.

● Full-time Monday through Friday matching clinic hours is the ideal. There is real flexibility for the right candidate. A four-day week has gone through recently, and it is easier in a multi-provider office. Flag it, do not assume it is a no.

● New-provider onboarding happens in person at the corporate office in Tampa, not in the clinic.

Requirements

● MD or DO. Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine preferred.

● Active medical license in the state of the position. Multiple licenses, or willingness to get licensed in another state, is a real plus.

● DEA license.

● Current CPR certification: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

● Clean OIG status, no disciplinary actions, and decent Healthgrades and Google reviews.

● Experienced outpatient PCP. Most offices are solo, so a new grad only works at select locations paired with an experienced physician.

● Florida Area of Critical Need (ACN) licensure is accepted at some locations and not others. It is called out per opening. ACN candidates need five or more years of experience as a primary care physician.

Nice to have

● eClinicalWorks experience.

● Managed care or value-based care background. Preferred, not always required.

● Geriatric Medicine CAQ.

● ICD-10 coding fluency and familiarity with STAR measures.

Pay: $225,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
