Key Responsibilities

• Teach Primary Mathematics and Science in accordance with the Singapore curriculum.
• Plan well-structured lessons that build conceptual understanding and respond to students’ learning needs.
• Use concrete, pictorial and abstract representations appropriately to develop mathematical understanding.
• Develop mathematical fluency, reasoning and problem-solving, including appropriate use of models and representations.
• Teach Science through clear explanations, questioning, practical investigation and application to everyday contexts.
• Develop students’ ability to observe, compare, interpret evidence and explain scientific ideas.
• Use assessment to identify misconceptions, adapt teaching and check understanding.
• Provide appropriate support and challenge while developing confidence and independence.
• Communicate effectively with parents and contribute to collaborative planning and school activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Education, Mathematics, Science or a related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, B.Ed. or equivalent.
• At least three years’ teaching experience at Primary level, including experience teaching both Mathematics and Science.
• Secure subject knowledge and understanding of how children develop mathematical and scientific concepts.
• Familiarity with Singapore Primary Mathematics and Science curricula and willingness to develop expertise in their delivery.
• Experience teaching the Singapore curriculum is desirable.
• Ability to use practical resources, visual representations and questioning effectively.
• Effective classroom management, assessment and organisational skills.
• Strong proficiency in English for teaching and professional communication.
• A reflective, collaborative and student-centred approach.
