Primary School Cleaner

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Hours: Monday to Friday (4 hours per day)

Starting Time: After 3pm each day (can be discussed withe the Principal)

Purpose of the Role
To maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the school buildings and facilities, contributing to a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• General cleaning of classrooms, corridors, toilets, and staff rooms.
• Vacuum, mop, dust, and polish floors, surfaces, and furniture
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is properly disposed of.
• Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms, and high-touch areas to required hygiene standards
• Monitoring and safely storing cleaning supplies.
• Reporting any maintenance issues to the school caretaker or principal.
• Assist with periodic deep cleaning and special cleaning requests as needed
• Work safely with cleaning equipment and chemicals following school procedures
• Maintain a professional and courteous manner when working around students and staff

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
• Ability to work safely and adhere to school hygiene protocols.
• Must pass standard Garda Vetting requirements prior to commencement.
