Primary School Wrap-Around Play Worker Part Time

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. As a Play Worker, you will create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children to play and learn. Your role will involve managing play activities, ensuring the well-being of children, and fostering positive relationships with both the children and their families.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times, as per safeguarding legislation.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
• Communicate effectively with children, encouraging them to express themselves and develop their social skills.
• Manage behaviour in a positive manner, using effective strategies to promote good conduct among children.
• Maintain a clean and organised play area, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition.
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment focused on the children's best interests.
• Provide support to parents and guardians by sharing insights about their child's development and activities.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
• A qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field is desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to manage groups of children effectively.
• A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development through play.
• Ability to drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences through creative play activities but is not mandatory.

• Enhanced DBS checks (or equivalent), including checks against the relevant barred lists.
• Overseas police checks for applicants who have lived or worked outside the UK.
• Verification of identity and right to work in the UK.
• Receipt of at least two satisfactory references, including one from the most recent employer.
• Employment history and qualification checks, along with any additional safeguarding checks deemed appropriate for the role.
• Online checks, in line with UK GDPR laws and legislation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
